I do not think that men and women are equal in 2010. It is very close but i still think that men are the more powerful person. Most jobs do hirer women and they get the same jobs of men but they do not get the same pay. i dont think that men and women will be equal until there is a women president. and Hilary Clinton came close to doing that.

WWII

Fellow Americans I am giving this speech tonight to tell all of us that Germany is close to over taking the entire continent of Europe. It is our decision to stay neutral or join the war and try to save Europe. If Europe does get over taken by Germany then there is a chance that the United States could be the next invaded.
The steps taken towards keeping peace in the world during the years following WWI, is by The Treaty of Versailles, which ended WWI. Also the League of Nations which was a way to prevent any more wars. Next the Washington Conference which many countries agreed to scrap battleships. The next one is the Kellogg-Brand Pact, which Sixty two countries agreed to settle their disputes peacefully. And finally the London Naval Conference which there would be no building of submarines, cruisers, and destroyers.
The next item I wanted to address was why WWII began. First off Mussolini comes to power in Italy. Was a terrible man and used mob like ways to take control. The next reason why is because Japan invades Manchuria. Also Hitler comes to power in Germany, the most powerful and dangerous man in the world then takes over the German government. Next Italy attacks Ethiopia. Then Japan begins shipbuilding. Then Japan invades China. Then Germany occupies Austria and Czechoslovakia. Italy annexes Albania. Then the biggest reason was when Germany attacked Poland that was the official start of WWII.
The present war situation after two years of fighting. Germany conquers Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Holland, and France. Then even more gains for Germany and Italy. Then Japan invades Indochina. The Lend-Lease Act which let the government lend war materials to any country fighting against Germany. The Germany attacks Russia, Hitler turns his back against Stalin and invades Russia.
As being the president of the United States I would have declared war on Germany because if they take control of Europe then they we be the most powerful military in the world and I couldn’t let that happen. So I would have help save Europe by entering the war in 1941.

The Simpsons producers did a very good job portraying the 1920’s Prohibition time. The accuracies did outweigh the fictional comedy I think. They had the Speakeasies and Bootleggers. They also had the beer companies all going out of business, and then having Homer make the beer in the basement and giving it to the Speakeasies. For the fictional comedy there were some stuff like the bar transforming into a pet shop and bowling balls were the way to get the beer to the saloons. I did like the episode.






To make the episode more like the 1920’s Prohibition, I would take out the scene when the punishment of Homer’s beer making is being catapulted. The whole episode was very good and accurate and then the catapult was just stupid. It didn’t ruin the episode but I just wasn’t funny and just didn’t go with it.

True Americans

Should true Americans have to give up personal freedoms during wartime...? No America is supposed to be a free country. We fought in wars to get it to be free and to ask people to give up there freedoms isn’t fair. It should be your choice if you want to give something up or not. And a true American would give up there freedoms but they shouldn’t have to.

Spain is responsible for the explosion of the U.S.S. Maine
250 Americans die because Spain decides to blow up the U.S.S Maine. If this isn't a reason for war I don't know what is. Spain pulls the final straw and kills 250 of our soldiers.
